Does the wearer have to activate the vest?+
No. The vest is designed to detect a fall pattern and deploy automatically while it is powered, properly fitted, and operating as intended.
Which areas does the vest protect?+
The deployed system is designed to add cushioning around the head, neck, back, hips, and pelvis.
Does the vest prevent falls?+
No. It is intended to reduce impact forces if a fall occurs. It should be used alongside supervision, mobility support, medication review, environmental safeguards, and the resident’s individualized care plan.
Can the vest be reused after deployment?+
Yes, after inspection and proper refolding. The two helium inflators are single-use and must be replaced after every deployment. The current product guidance states the vest should be replaced after approximately four to five uses.
How do caregiver alerts work?+
The vest connects to the S-Airbag app. A designated app user can receive an alert when a fall is detected, along with location and navigation information when permissions and connectivity are available.
Does the app replace emergency monitoring?+
No. App delivery depends on device settings, connectivity, permissions, and correct registration. Facilities should keep their usual monitoring and response protocols in place.
What sizes and colors are available?+
S20 and S30 are listed in sizes S through 2XL. Black is available, with blue and pink shown as limited-stock colors on the current store.
What is the difference between S20 and S30?+
The primary listed fit difference is the arm opening: S20 is narrower, while S30 has a wider oval-shaped opening.
How often does the vest need charging?+
Charging frequency depends on use and operating conditions. The current models list a 5000mAh battery and 110–240V charging. Follow the manual and establish a consistent staff charging check.
Can a facility try one before buying multiple vests?+
Yes. Fall Safety Vest offers a one-vest, four-week facility pilot with staff training for an appropriate high-risk resident.
